April TreptoMay 13, 1950 – May 1, 2025

April Lee Trepto, 74, of Moretown, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born on May 13, 1950, in Montpelier, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Grace (Abare) Lee. On January 9, 1988, she married Raymond Ernest Trepto Jr. in Moretown. Raymond predeceased her on May 8, 2010.

April was a 1968 graduate from Harwood Union High School. After high school, she earned her degree at Vermont College of Cosmetology. As a young woman, she was happy and busy raising her family. She later owned and operated a bookstore in Barre. She worked at Flanagan's Distributing in Montpelier for years. Later changing things up she worked at the Grand Union that became Shaw's. She worked for several years for the Community National Bank as a teller, where she retired from.

She enjoyed crafting, reading and was a big movie buff, especially loving westerns. She was a member of two Cowboy Action Shooting Clubs, the Verdant Mountain Cowboys of Vermont and the Dalton Gang of New Hampshire. She was a pretty good sharpshooter and brought home many blue ribbons. She enjoyed the weekends getting ready for cowboy shoots and seeing dear friends. She enjoyed time with her family and her beloved dog Shadow, who went everywhere with her.

Survivors include her dear friend Dave Charbonneau, her children, Sasha Elwell and her partner Rodney Huntoon; Shane Elwell and his wife Kelley; four grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” Wood, Dustin “Dusty” Wood, Erin Elwell, and Ethan Elwell; four great-grandchildren, Dustin Lang Jr., Dexter Howard, Adrienne Grace, and Shalyn Pashall; two stepchildren, Richard Craig and Heather Craig, as well as extended family.

A private service to celebrate the life of April Trepto will be May 17, 2025, for the family. The family would love to have friends join at April's home at 1 p.m. May 17 to celebrate her life.
