SRC - Birds of Paradise

Every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m., a group of SRC women sporting colorful feathers on their helmets meet at the base of the Gate House chair at Sugarbush for a morning of skiing and friendship. Cheryl Brayman conceived of the idea for having a women’s ski group and she quickly named the group the Birds of Paradise in a nod to the trail at Lincoln Peak of the same name. What began with a small group of around six women has grown each week and now 12-18 women participate each Wednesday. The “Birds” start their morning with a couple of quick runs down Pushover for everyone before splitting into smaller groups who then explore various portions of the mountain. The women encourage each other to try terrain they otherwise might not ski and enjoy conquering moguls and other challenges.

The Sugarbush Racing Club is now 50 years old and encourages all aspects of skiing, including racing and free skiing. In addition, members enjoy many social activities throughout the year. Check out the many offerings at www.SugarbushRacingClub.com.
