At the January 14 general membership meeting of the Mad River Valley Rotary, Saul Costa, developer of the technology startup, Shock, and the Bee app, presented the story of the nonprofit. The mission of Bee is to use technology to facilitate human connection, align local communities, and position people back at the center of worthy causes. Even though Bee is an app on phones, its purpose is to get people off their phones and back out into the world doing good. Last September, the Mad River Rotary partnered with Bee to present the film, “Join or Die” at the Big Picture Theater and then held the Volunteer Fair, “We are MRV” at the Round Barn.
