Cutler Memorial Library presents Fibers of Being, an exhibition showcasing the fiber artistry of Elisabeth Mazzilli. The opening reception will occur on Thursday, November 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the library, located at 151 High Street, Plainfield, VT 05667.
Mazzilli, a self-taught fiber artist living in the Mad River Valley, discovered her craft through a combination of circumstance and practicality. Having spent years weaving and braiding rugs for her home, she was encouraged by a local pattern maker to explore rug hooking. The result is a collection of tactile, evocative works that explore texture, pattern, and the intimate labor of fiber art.
Fibers of Being invites viewers into the world of textile creation, highlighting the intersection of craft, material, and personal expression. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artist and learn more about the techniques and inspirations behind her work.
