The Mad River Path association has introduced a new logo, reflecting both the scenic Mad River Valley and the organization’s commitment to active transportation. The updated design was created by Kirsten Nielsen of Yellowwood Designs with input from the Mad River Path board and the Active Transportation Corridor Advisory Committee.
The association said the new logo symbolizes the interconnectedness of local communities through walking and biking, and highlights the natural landscape that the path traverses.
In addition to the branding update, the association recently conducted maintenance on the Warren Path. Over the past two Fridays, volunteers worked to repair storm-related damage, including fixing check dams, installing water bars, and rebuilding sections of washed-out trail. Volunteers included Richard Czaplinski, David Jackson, Jon Rickard, Mathias Boudreau Golfman, Danya Boudreau Golfman, Luke Foley, and Marcy Bucheit. The town of Warren contributed materials for the project.
The Mad River Path Association also led an orienteering activity with students at Fayston Elementary School last week. The program introduced students to map reading, compass navigation, and spatial thinking. Teams used maps and compasses to locate nine hidden sets of treats along the path in the Chase Brook Town Forest, turning the educational activity into an engaging outdoor adventure.
