Over the past few weeks each of the three Mad River Valley libraries displayed the entries in the local libraries’ tenth annual Peeps Diorama Competition, giving members of the public the opportunity to view the dioramas and vote for their favorites.
The votes have been tallied and the three library directors have announced the winners.
Mixed Age/Family category winner: "Peeper of Oz" by Vanessa, Siddalee, and Emeric Swann
Kid (<8) category winner: "Bunny Slopes Peeps Edition" by Tulsi Rothman
Big Kid (8-12) category winner: "Harry Peeper and the Quidditch Match" by Novalee Swann
Honorable Mentions go to "Peep's Corner" by Kelly and Lily Hayes, "Forever Peepers" by Waverley Swann, and "Diary of a Wimpy Peep" by Nora Conti.
“Category winners will be awarded the coveted Golden Peep trophy, and all participants will receive Peep stickers and temporary tattoos as thanks for their hard work and effort,” Warren Library director Marie Schmukal said.
“Over 150 members of the public came to view and vote on the dioramas and we received many comments noting the difficulty in choosing a favorite. Library staff and visitors were delighted by the creativity that went into each diorama,” she added.
The library directors thanked all who participated in and helped celebrate the tenth annual Peeps Diorama Contest in the Mad River Valley.
