Ellery “Ellie” Curtis, 26, a Waitsfield native, died in a skiing accident on Saturday, April 6, at Palisades Tahoe ski resort, the Placer County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Curtis graduated as valedictorian from the Green Mountain Valley School and from Dartmouth College where she was an NCAA All American ski racer and captain of the alpine ski team.
She had been living in San Francisco where she was working for the California Public Utilities Commission.
She is the daughter of Kari Dolan and Chach Curtis of Waitsfield, and is also survived by her sister Lainey and brother-in-law Jake Hager. A full obituary will be forthcoming.
