Dear MRV neighbors,

We have entered a time of great uncertainty and financial challenge. Our local health center closed and transportation is needed for medical appointments. Food prices are soaring. Medical insurance premiums have skyrocketed for many people. This is a challenging time.

If you or someone you know in The Valley is in need of emergency help for items such as rent, utilities, auto repairs, the Mad River Valley Interfaith Council may be able to help. The process is simple and confidential. Call Reverend Mark D. Wilson, 802-496-3065, to let us know how we can help.

As a supplement to your food shopping, feel free to stop in once a week at our Mad River Valley Community Pantry, at the rear of Evergreen Apartments (5308 Main Street) in Waitsfield. Our hours are Tuesday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon and Wednesday, 4 to 6 p.m. You will be greeted by friendly volunteers as you shop for produce, proteins and dairy products as well as canned and boxed items. All we ask you is “how many people are you shopping for?”

For rides, call Free Wheelin’, 802-249-3427. Two days’ notice is requested. Rides are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
